Trusting God in Uncertain Times

If there is one thing I have learned in life, it is that things are never guaranteed. One day you might feel like you have it all, but the next day it could all be gone. When this happens, it can be really difficult to trust God because things did not work out the way you wanted them to. The key part of that sentence is "the way you wanted". Surrendering to God and His plan is not an easy task, but it is worth it.
The day I surrendered to God, I remember feeling mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted. I told Him I was done fighting. I asked Him to remove anything from my life that wasn't meant to be there. It is called a surrender prayer. One of the hardest prayers you can say, because when you do, you can expect change very quickly within your life. When I surrendered to God in prayer, 3 days later I got broken up with. At the time, I was devastated, but ultimately, I asked for it. I asked God to remove what is not meant to be in my life, and He did. For a long time, I questioned my choice to surrender because it caused me so much pain. However, it takes us to hit rock bottom to realize that at the end of the day, God never abandons us. When we hit rock bottom, He does too.
God knows what our suffering feels like. He sent himself down to earth through his son Jesus. On the cross, Jesus felt all of our pain, suffering, despair, loneliness, and he absorbed it all. Since God and Jesus are one in the same, God felt all that Jesus felt. If you are in a season where you feel like you are all alone, you are NOT alone. God is right there with you, feeling exactly how you are feeling. Give yourself time to heal from whatever you are going through but allow God to be on your healing journey with you.
Trusting in God during uncertain times is tough. I will be the first to admit it. As humans, we always want to control the situations. Surrendering to God is not an easy task, but a joyful one. I pray you have peace knowing that you do not have to worry about tomorrow. God will bring you out of those tough seasons and He will provide you with an abundance of love. Proverbs 3:5 states: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight". This verse is a very powerful one. We need to trust in the Lord and Him alone. We cannot rely on our plan to get us through this world. We can only rely on His plan. God knows what is best for us, even during those uncertain times. I am in an uncertain time in my life right now and I admit sometimes it is hard to always trust God, but I am working on it. God sees me trying, and He still loves me always. He still loves you, no matter the relationship you currently have with Him. Trust in Him always, because He always has your best interests at heart. You are NOT alone when you have God, ever.
